I'm new to these boards so i'm just now reading this....this is the first time i've heard of a TA doing this, then again, i used a TA for our honeymoon cruise; the first and only time. That experience is actually the reason I became an agent myself. I had NO assistance whatsoever and was even told "you'll have to wait I have a lot on my desk right now" after my final payment was made and I had a question. We were booked for a week in a suite on Disney Cruise Line, so she had quite a LARGE commission and i was appalled.
I tell everyone who's considering using a TA to not be lured in by the "offer"; but choose someone who is accessible to you and understands what you want and what you expect from your TA and of your vacation experience. THOSE are the things that are priceless!!!!
