    Disembarkation in middle of cruise

Hi. We have a place on Roatan, and we live in Texas. Royal Caribbean has a Western Caribbean cruise out of Galveston with a stop in Roatan. As an alternative to flying, we were wondering if we could embark on the ship in Galvweston, disembark in Roatan, and then re-embark on the next ship when it stops in Roatan and take that back to Galveston. Thanks.

    Hi Grendel,

I would double check on my advice but from what I can remember on ships it is possible. But there are some things that you need to know or consider.

    1) It would be pretty expensive. You are not able to book partial cruises - so effectively you would need to book two cruises one to get you there and one to get you back.

    2) As you have a place there it sounds like you already have all the right paperwork etc. But if ever you are disembarking mid-cruse you have to ensure that you have all the right visas, paperwork etc to stay in that port of disembarkation. It is not an automatic right to stay in a country long-term even if you come in on a cruise ship.

I would check with Royal Caribbean. You would have to book two cruises, and that will be more expensive than round trip airfare.
