When we got married (100+ years ago) at the end of August, we were in the same situation- traveling during hurricane season. Cruising wasn't popular, or was just too expensive back then, so we went to Acapulco and had wonderful weather but they are subject to hurricanes just as the Caribbean is.
My suggestion would be to choose the ship you want and the cabin you want (during that time of year, you could probably get a balcony or better!) and just be ok if the itinerary changes. Of course, travel insurance is a must and make sure the insurance covers the cost of the airfare.
Bring extra clothes in case you can't get back home on time and just think of any changes in plans as an adventure.
I still love cruising to Bermuda and we have done it 3 times during hurricane season. If you decide on a Bermuda cruise- just bring warmer clothes since you might end up in Canada instead.
Enjoy your cruise- where every you end up and congratulations on your upcoming marriage!
