We are taking the 12-day Norwegian Jewel cruise on Oct. 28, with stops in: Samana, Dom. Rep.,.....Oranjestad, Aruba.....Willemsad, Neth. Antilles....Roatan, Honduras...Belize....
There will be four of us and we are wondering if it is possible to rent a car and explore on our own. We would like to go snorkeling, see the beaches and do a little shopping. Or, do any of these ports have public transportation? We took a cruise in May to Bermuda and took advantage of their bus and ferry system. It was wonderful and we saw the entire island on our own in the three days that we were docked.
Has anyone done this and if so, can you pass on any tips about the process. Thanks for any help or ideas you may have!
