As I said (half kidding) on another thread... Maybe RCL is eliminating lobster in lieu of charging the fuel supplement.

I hope RCL does not do it.

My next cruise on RCL is a 14 nigher so it could add a chunk of change to that one. They would probably work it so that I could not use my OBC's to cover it.

Not a problem - we all are a little pi--ed at all this, to say the least!

I would not be a bit surprised if you see this on all the cruise lines before very long. Usually once one cruise line has the nerve to be the first to take the initiative, all the rest are soon to follow.

The thing that irks me the most is that you'll see this very same thing in all walks of life, not just on cruises. Taxis will begin to add a fuel surcharge, then delivery services will do, and so on. Why not just increase your prices? If the price of oil goes down, which is highly unlikely, then lower your prices. They are just playing a game to benefit them while screwing the consumer and the agents.

It's like anything else - if we don't all file our complaints and cause an uproar about it, then they'll just keep doing it and think it's business as usual.

    Thanks, Pete, for understanding!

So if you see anything about if and when RCI does this (probably only a matter of time ) ... we'll count on YOU to inform the rest of us!

Couldn't it be considered a violation of a contract when the cruise line arbitrarily changes prices AFTER a person has (supposedly) paid for the entire cruise?

Pete, some of the airlines are adding a fuel surcharge,(AA just did) and so is the Trucking Industry.
