Hanna,

Most loyalty ambassadors will take appintments. So make yours early. I am going to try and get an appointment for sometime on Thursday. It seems to me that they are extremely crowded on the last two days of the cruise. So try to avoid that time.

I love the new future bookings. You don't have to make a decision as to which cruise you want. You just know that you have that obc once you do decide. I plan on doing two future bookings.

oops sorry I just noticed that this thread is for travel agents! I just answered without thinking. And that always seems to get me in trouble! lol

Thank you Annie, you provided valuable information.

I was coming back in to post that they recommend making an appointment...don't wait til the last sea day...lol!

I was thinking of taking advantage of this myself, for a "future 2009 Europe Summer cruise"

All of the information you have gotten on this question is correct; you get a reduced deposit, you get onboard credit, and your agent gets the booking so you can still work with them. The other thing not mentioned is that depending on the cruise line, you do not have to pick a specific cruise. You often have up to 3 years to decide and if you cancel, you'll get your deposit back.

I always recommend booking your next cruise while on your current cruise because of the all the benefits mentioned above.

On our last cruise (on Sovereign of the Seas), 'open booking' forms were made available at the platinum / diamond 'welcome back' party.
All you had to do was fill out the form and drop it off at the loyalty ambassador's desk at your convenience. No appointment needed... the confirmation was delivered to your stateroom.

I just found this thread and have a few questions.

I have booked an Eastern Med cruise on the Brilliance OTS for November 2009.
I booked it with an American agent but might want to cancel the booking and re-book with my European agent. (the prices are better and as of now the $$ is falling to much)

Can I cancel the 2009 sailing while onboard our Brilliance OTS sailing this November (2008)??
If yes, can I re-book onboard and get the OBC and Platinum benefits for ocean view and balcony cabins??!!!

Do I need decide onboard which travel agent I want to transfer the booking too, or can I notify them at a later date?

If the November sailing should go down in price until date of sailing, can I benefit from that since I booked onboard??

Also, if the cruise should go down in price after final payment day, am I able to get the new discounted price??? If so, is that only available with American travel agents or does that apply to European agents too???

Since there are different rules for American and Europen agents, some of your questions are difficult to answer.

Since your current booking is with a TA, I am not sure if you can cancel it directly with RCL, I believe you need to cancel with the TA.

I do know that you do not have to designate a TA at the time of booking. It must be done before final payment.

Price decreaces before final payment are no problem, After is iffy

Blizzard is correct that if you booked through an agent, you have to cancel it with the agent; RCCL will not allow you to cancel it without going through your agent.

As for booking your cruise while onboard, a suggestion would be to keep the original reservation you've got, wait till you get onboard and book the same cruise so you can take advantage of the reduced deposit and onboard credit, then notifying your agent to cancel the original reservation. Then, if you wanted your original cabin, you can contact RCCL to move you into that cabin number. But whether or not you give the new reservation to your agent, give it to another agent, or service your own reservation is your choice. I always recommend using an agent, but you can decide that later - you don't need to decide when you make the booking. But you do have to decide before final payment is made.

As for the price going down, RCCL is very good to work with. They will give you the cheaper rate even after final payment has been made. However, sometimes the specials are for 'new bookings only', in which case you can't get the special.

Pete, thank you very much for your, always, perfect answers

I will follow your advice. However, I did book "balcony" cabin 8600. It turns out "the balcony" is tiny, almost like french doors You can just fit one chair.
So I dont mind moving.
