They are many that believe that the aft are among the best cabins.
They only thing to keep in mind is that you have more walking to do to get to the rest of the ship. That may be a good thing if you need to work off those extra deserts.

Actually, it may be the worst place in that regard. All of the food is right back there with you, a short elevator ride up or down!!!
We love the back of the ship - the balconies are bigger! Problem with Deck 10 is that you are right below the grill - it can sometimes be a bit noisey above you. Deck 9 is better.
We just got off the Crown Princess to the Southern Caribbean and were in the very front of the ship. Had to walk 1/4 mile to get to everything! Much prefer the back of the ship.
You'll love this ship and you'll love the Southern Caribbean!

I'd be hesitant to book the deck 10 cabins also. There could be a lot of noise from above. The problem is that if you now have a JS, you would have to move down to either deck 6 or 7. If you have a D1, there are no aft cabins in that category except on deck 10. You could however take an E1 category cabin on deck 6, 7, 8 or 9. The E1 cabin is about 10% smaller than the D1, but if you can get one of the corner aft E1's you would have a very nice large semi wraparound balcony especially on deck 6 and 7.
I have attached a PIC that shows these cabins and you will have a better idea by checking them out.

PS, I hope the PIC doesn't spread the page out too much.
