    Military discounts

Do our wonderous travel agents know which lines offer military discounts?
On the same subject, can a military discount be used in combination with other discounts? ie: Crown and Anchor savings, etc.
What are the military discounts averaging?

    NCL, CCL, Princess, RCI...
they can sometimes be combined with coupons...depends on the coupon, have to read the fine print.

The discount can be really good...prices vary...

Talking This is a current list, but could change

Carnival, Celebrity, Costa, Disney, HAL, MSC, NCL, Orient, Princess and RCCL.

All the above offer discounts on selected sailings to active duty and retired military
of the US and Canadian armed forces with the exception of HAL and Disney which offer them only to those on active duty.

Costa and Carnival offers the discounts also to honorably discharged veterans
with at least 2 years of active duty.

It seems that Carnival offers the most sailings with discounts and the discounts are often very substantial.

I don't believe if you are booking with a group that you can also get the military rate at least not on Carnival. If you take the military rate you don't get counted with the groups. Also Carnival I believe if one berth in the cabin is military both berths get the military rate.

Dolores or Rex correct me if I'm wrong on this.

As was stated before, military discounts are rather substantial but can't be transferred into a group booking, at least on Carnival. So they wouldn't count towards free berths or amenities of any kind.

Hanna, check with your TA as to specific bookings and sailings. The military fares are not offered on all sailings, much like senior, resident and past guest fares.

Lisa, yes, only one person in the cabin needs to meet requirements for military, senior, resident and past passenger fares for all in the cabin to get the reduced fare.

Yes, Hanna, sorry...but on limited sailings...I checked the Freedom 11/4 and they are not offering it for that sailing. Sorry...
