Corp Families

Let say I go on 5 Carnival cruises, then I want to go on a cruise with Princess. Would I get the same perks as I would if I cruised on Carnival itself? Since they belong to the same corperation. Just wondering.

No you would not. I do not believe that the Carnival Corp. benefits transfer between any of their brands. I am at different levels with several of their brands. Royal Caribbean does offer benefits across their brands.

In fact Princess acts like they are not even part of Carnival. So that's a resounding no that you get benefits on Carnival equal to Princess or to Holland America or any of their other brands in fact.

Great questions, Baldwincruising. Its too bad the major cruise lines don't consider an option like this.

After all , hotel conglomerate, Starwood, offers an across the board/brand incentive program that I use quite a bit and with great success.

Thanks for the quick answers, Blizz and patsea.

You will, however, get marketing literature form the sister companies telling you "that as a valued past cruiser...."

Yes, I get all the mail about past guest in all. Was talking about this with the wife so we thought we'd ask. Thank you all for your responses.

We have sailed HAL twice and get lots of stuff from Princess and Carnival. What they don't realize is that our last cruise on Holland America was so bad we don't think of any reference to them as a positive.

Sometimes you can get special discounts on booking a cruise on Princess if you have sailed on Carnival...at least I believe that is possible (it's been so long). But that's it. Carnival or Holland cruises won't count toward Princess Captain Circle levels and those benefits. But Sitmar cruises may. Sometime to ask your TA about (booking discounts) when booking a cruise if you have previously cruised with one of the other lines in the same cruising family.
