Question With an OBC,do you spend more $$ onboard??

If you have an OBC (Onboard Credit) do you spend more money onboard or do you stay within the OBC amount??

Depending on the length of the cruise you can get $50 - $100 - $200 - $250 and more from either travel agents and/or from the cruise lines (Shareholder benefits etc)

For our November cruise I get $200 OBC from my TA and $200 OBC from Royal Caribbean as I am a Shareholder.

To answer my own question, Usually we only do 12 days cruises so, yes we spend more then we get in OBC. Not much as we are not drinking more then 1 or 2 drinks per day and hardly spent any $$$ in the shops. If we purchase tours, speciality restaurants we do it online pre-cruise and not onboard.
If we sail in as suite, Royal Caribbean have some really nice suite perks,(free drinks and coffee) then we hardly spend much above the OBC.

Ok, I guess I was on a couple cruises that asked how much credit I wanted a day. I told them a thousand a day and they said fine. Not that I spend that much EACH day, but I have many times. Casino, drinks, jewelry, booze.....

We usually have pretty substantial OBC from Shareholder benefits, travel agent perks, credit card rewards etc.

We have had as much as $800 OBC and manage to spend it all, but don't go over by much if we are sailing Royal Caribbean since we have the Concierge Lounge with free drinks in the evening.

I remember one cruise where we looked for things to use the OBC on because we didn't want to lose it! LOL! Our total bill on that cruise was $1.19!

We use our onboard credits such as shareholder, credits from TA or cruiseline to do things we normally wouldn't do - a particular spa treatment, the Riedel wine tasting, etc.
Credits that we purchase or get from our credit card points we use for ordinary and usual purchases - wine, soda card, etc.

We have been sailing with several hundred in OBC's for the last couple years. Even with the Concierge Lounge for drinks, we have always managed to spend them all, and then some.
