passengers 16+ need ID to cruise

Coast Guard and Immigration and Naturalization Service regulations require that cruise passengers 16 or older show a passport or birth certificate (original or certified copy) PLUS a photo ID issued by a federal, state or local government agency. Voter registration and Social Security cards are no longer accepted as proof of citizenship. Most foreigners living and working in the United States are required to have an Alien Registration Card (the so-called green card), which serves as proof of legal residence.

The new Alien Registration Cards(Green Cards) now read, "Permanent Resident Card" on the top front.

Remember, they are valid for 10 years, and must be renewed.

At 16 most kids have the DL or permit. But good info to know. If they don't then they would need to go get an ID card where you get your DL. My daughter has military dependant ID so she is fine as far as that second ID. I have always felt safer with her flying on her own with her having a picture ID card anyway.

Yeah...I know. Trust me, I'm only complaining a little bit, and only because I'm thinking about everything I'm going to have to change for my upcoming name change (hint, there's a trip to Vegas planned over Memorial Day weekend)...notary, passport, ss card, license, credit cards, bills, etc.

I have very little vacation time at work, and may be starting a new job soon, so it's just overwhelming right now. I'm really not complaining....much.
