Never a specific cabin number, but from a selection of only about 2 dozen cabins per ship.

The line we have begun to call "home" for the last 6~7 years has specific cabins in each class of ship that are anomolies -- for whatever reason, are head and shoulders above all of the other cabins within their class, and we'll hold out for one every time. We've even chosen the date for a particular cruise based upon the availability of one of our preferred cabins. They're well known to people who frequent these boards and that line.

Not all cruise ships have these oddities, or if they do, the line will find a way to extract quite a few extra $ for them by giving them some unique class designator.

Our next cruise (below) is an example of this:

There are only 26 cabins that we'd consider, and of those, only 24 are "preferred". 12 of these are all in the same class as at least a hundred others, but have verandas that are at least 3X the size of all of the others. Even better, those verandas face aft.

The other 12 are in a class of their own, and are the best $/space value of any cabin with a veranda. Of those 12, 6 of them are better yet as they offer 270 degree views from the aft corner vantage points (more like 4X in size, too), and have even more interior space than the other 6 of the same class. They're bigger both inside and out than the smaller suites that cost considerably more on most cruises.

Yeah, you bet we pick 'em!

Interesting how they grow on you, isn't it (see above)?! I recognize the line from the designator. Different line, same idea.

Do you now hold out for one, changing dates or itinerary if necessary?

Guess we aren't risk takers!!
There's certainly no risk in your most recent pick! As soon as you get back from that one, I want a detailed description of the number of times you found yourself unexpectedly napping to the sound of the wake!

Hang on a sec, though... I'm trying to untangle another thread that started to mix the FO and FV cabins. Somewhere I thought you were trying to book an FO, but later it sounded like you were on the Milli class ships and were booking an FV. Which was it?
