Are all lines doing away with self-service laundry??? - Cruise Line Fans: Cruise Reviews and Chat From Real Cruisers

The new deck plans for HAL's new 'S' ship, the Eurodam again has no self-service laundries onboard. It makes it quite inconvenient, especially on your longer voyages, especially current considering luggage restrictions.

My question is: Are other Cruise Lines doing away with their self-serve laundries also??
If so, how do you feel about it???

I appreciate a self-service laundry being available to me. If not, they should set a price that is reasonable for them to do your laundry.

It's really a poor call on HAL's part.

Celebrity and Royal Caribbean don't have them on any of their ships. We have used the laundry service when we are on longer voyages. Frankly, I don't want to do laundry, other than some hand washing of delicates. I'm on vacation!!

Char- I like the laundry for times that I need something clean asap, as the packages generally have turn around in 48 hours. Thanks for letting me know about Celebrity and Royal Carribean, I will plan accordingly on the Infinity.

I would rather do my own laundry. I don't want someone else touching it unless it was a Dry Clean only garment. I'm glad Princess has self service laundry.

While Celebrity's laundry prices are no great shakes, you'll want to have a close look at their dry cleaning prices. Try on $7.50 for an evening gown!

I can't come near them locally, and dry cleaning is pretty reasonable here. I've even been known to bypass a trip to the drycleaners on the way to a cruise and let Celebrity handle it! I sure don't bring anything home dirty.
