On our upcoming cruise we will be in Aruba till 11pm. So, I will report back if it is any better staying later in the evening.

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

A bad day at sea is better than a good day at work.

John, last time we were there we did a sunset catamaran sailing. It was nice and the drinks flowed freely. No sun that day though

We did the Island tour with De Palm Island in the morning, a 4 hour affair, went back to the ship, ate, then took a taxi to Palm Beach and was there for 2 hours. We arranged with the taxi driver to return and take us back to the ship. We then met later at the pier for the Sunset Cocktail cruise, which was fabulous.
Personally, I could spend about 3 - 4 days relaxing in Aruba, yes, just doing nothing.
Taxi fare in Aruba cost us US$20 roundtrip for 2 people in 2004. It's got to be more now.

The local bus is very reliable and cheap! A return ticket to the beaches by the hotels is 4 florins (about 1.67 florins to US Dollar). It is very interesting just to get on and ride to the end of the line if you don't want to go to the beach.

Rent a Harley and drive to our favorite spots! It's a wonderful island to explore.
