What are the best (fun, exciting, interesting) shore excursions you have enjoyed in Aruba ?

We went on the Atlantis subamrine ride. Since it's in a place where I wouldn't want to snorkel, I think it was worth it. It will be better in a few years, since they sank a boat to bring in barnacles, coral , fish etc. In time there will be more sealife to look at there.

We saw the Kukunuku Party bus, and those people were having a GREAT time!

We will go back in October, and I am hoping to rent a jeep so we can see more of the island. The people who do beach days there have recommended it, but since we can sunbathe on the ship, we may not do that.

As simple as it sounds we hired a van taxi with 2 other couples......we told the local driver show us Aruba..........it was a 4 hour tour and he was very knowledgeable about his home island.........I think it cost each couple something like $30. The taxi's are lined up at the pier and renting one with a driver is no problem at all. Since it was our first time in Aruba, we just wanted to see a little bit of everything.........we had a lot of fun with the other couples and it turned out to be one of our best excursions on the cruise.

We also went on the Atlantis submarine, it was pretty neat. We also did a "sunset catamaran" cruise. There was no sun that night, but the experience was really fun. All the free drinks you could handle and a delightful staff on the catamaran.

Hi MC, The submarine ride looks interesting, how long is the ride and how deep does it go?

The Kukunuku Party bus also sounds interesting. What is that all about? Anything with Party in the name sounds good... except maybe with the exception of political party

I have a feeling that Aruba may be a place a person would like to go for longer than the one day we will be there... We do have two days at sea afterwards to recover though, so I plan to make use of the whole day and see as much as I can.

Hi Hanna, it sounds like you had a good time. Did yo do both in the same day?

Mike, yes we did both the same day. The submarine at about 9am and the catamaran at sunset. The submarine ride was aboot(thats Canadian for about) an hour or so. Don't remember how deep it was, but saw cool different colored fish, rock formations, and lots of clear blue water.

Since you are from BC, you might enjoy the crazy bus ride. They do a lot of tipping back of the alcohol.
