Not I.
But here's what My Antigua and Barbuda Beach holiday guide 365 Beaches to choose from
has to say about it:

Runaway beach:
Located on the northwest coast, Runaway beach, a seeming endless white sand expanse, is home to many popular resorts, restaurants and bars, Runaway beach is a fun place to discover on your Antigua holiday. If you get to hot in your wandering, hop in and cool off in the clear waters of one of Antigua's most popular destinations.

I did see on another site that there's just about no shade on this beach and the sun is relentless.

My understanding is that there are not that many vendors supplying chairs and umbrellas. That is why we usually opt for Jolly Beach @ Jolly Harbor.

Plus Jolly Harbor is very close to the pier.

Reporting Back!

We totally enjoyed our day at Runaway Beach!

The shore excursion we took, "Antigua Beach Escape w/Lunch"(report posted in this section... just scroll) was to Runaway Beach.

Chairs were included in the price of the excursion. We rented an umbrella for $6.

Runaway Beach -Snorkeling??

Any snorkeling available at this beach? Can a taxi from the pier be taken instead of a full price excursion form Carnival? Last trip we did the Virgin Island Sailaway. We are really interested in a beach for good snorkeling and one we can just take a taxi to. Any ideas?? We sail late Feb 2010 on the Carnival Freedom. Bev

Thanks for reporting back, Lulu. Good to know Runaway is just as pleasant as Jolly Beach.

Did you get a chance to visit Jolly Beach? Any thoughts on how the two compare?

Sorry... I haven't been to Jolly Beach so can't compare.

Our favorite thing to do and what we almost always do in Antigua is take a sailing catamaran (5 hour, if possible) that has a snorkel stop and then takes us to one of the many small off-the-main-track beaches.

This time, we just wanted a beach day and were very pleased with Runaway Beach.
