Which Tour From Princess Would You Recommend for Antigua?

    Scenic Antigua & Beach
Travel through Antigua’s pioneer villages and visit the island’s historic sites before heading to a beautiful white-sand beach to relax. Board your transportation and travel across Antigua, passing the pioneer villages of All Saints, Liberta, and Falmouth, to Shirley Heights Lookout. Savor the picture-perfect view of Nelson’s Dockyard. Built in 1725, the dockyard served as the base for the English naval squadron patrolling the West Indies. Visit Dow’s Hill Interpretation Centre and view a 15-minute multimedia presentation that traces the island’s history from prehistoric times to the present day. Take in the panoramic views of Falmouth and English Harbour. Travel down Fig Tree Drive through the island’s rainforest to one of Antigua’s 365 white-sand beaches. You have approximately 90 minutes to swim, beachcomb, or relax in a beach chair and enjoy a complimentary rum punch before returning to the ship.
    Or

View Antigua from a different perspective on a full circumnavigation cruise of the island’s magnificent coastline.

Board the motorized catamaran Excellence near the pier for your circumnavigation cruise. Pass by areas such as Jumby Bay where the rich and famous have homes; see Bird Island; view the crashing waves at Devil’s Bridge. Stop at deserted Green Island where you can relax on the beach or snorkel the near by reef. After your exploration of the island or snorkeling, savor a delicious lunch prior to continuing your tour around Antigua. Continue to English Harbour and view Nelson’s Dockyard from the water before cruising past the western coast of Antigua where many sparkling beaches and pristine bays can be found. Snorkeling equipment including snorkel vest is included.

I am having a real hard time making a decision, can you help? I have never been to these islands, but my DH has a real hard time seeing the poverty and I don't know what its going to be like.

    Thank you Ziggy,
for your reply. Have you been to Antigua? Is the Island worth seeing? I love snorkling too, but I was told to do the sailing trip to Nevis when we're on St Kitts. Do we want to see the Islands, please let me know what you think.

We've been to Antigua a bunch of times over the years! Love taking catamarans there!

Between the two you listed ... you might want to give #2 a serious thought for a very good time. Think Princess has it listed as "Circle Antigua By Sea With Lunch" and has their C.R.U.I.S.E. Award. We've never been on a Princess Catamaran Shore excursion with the C.R.U.I.S.E. Award that was not good!

Also, your DH will see nil to no proverty by water ... not that I ever noticed much at all except for right in town.

I haven't been on this exact excursion ... but did do one very similar and very much enjoyed it!

I have never been and am excited to go there but my cruise is not until Nov 2009, so I have a long wait hehehe.

For our group thread section I put together this thread for Antigua, check it out, theres also one for St Kitts and Barbados. I'm adding almost daily to at least one of them LOL

Wow, alot of Scuba Diving places, Well can you believe it, my DH doesn't want to be on a long tour and neither do both my DS's, so I chose the Powerboat tour which is 3.5 to 4 hours and it take you to Cades Reef which is in a National Marine Park. I think the rest of the group wants to go check out Jolly Beach. This way after everyone does a morning tour we can all meet a the beach or a restaurant. I've checked out the web site but I can not find a price for a one day pass. Does anyone have a price estimate for the day at JOLLY BEACH.

I was told all beaches are free, you will just need to pay to use the lounge chairs and umbrellas. Haven't heard about a day pass, you might try emailing them
