Question St. John's Antigua

Hello,
Anyone know of a fantastic/quiet beach to go to while we visit St.Johns for 15 hours on 22nd October?
Many thanks
Phil

There are soooooo many beaches there. They pride themselves for that. They're all gorgeous. I can't even remember the name of the beach that we went to! (How embarassing )

Antigua ended up being one of our favorite islands and would gladly visit it again!

Hey Hanna - not too far to go for you!!! Really - 150 days? You can make it!

But, my recommendation to those who might be going to Antigua. AllieMan and I said that we wouldn't have gone on a city/island tour. Yes it was interesting and our guide was a doll (we did like Nelson's landing)....but the beach was so nice that we pretty much ended up wishing we had spent the whole day there.

How did you like Antigua?

Loved the beach. We went to Runaway beach. There were maybe 50 people when we were there tops, only two when we got there in the morning. LOTS of shells on the beach, unbroken, great place to go shelling. Very nice very clean club house, with a restaurant, bar, lunge and pool table. Overlooks the ocean. Nice ground with lots of tropical floweres and vegitation. Main food they specialize in at Runaway Beach Club is lobser, and it's not cheap. It is freshly caught. They bring them on live and you can see them offshore catching them. Didn't eat on the island. Ate at the ship....even a hot dog, was $6!

No hucksters onthe beach, no one tried to sell me anything or braid my hair. I liked that! Peace, is nice. At the water line there is a dip, and a band of broken shells, bring water shoes. Once you get past it you get to a nice smooth sand bar.

Shops in town are comparable to other islands, lots of t-shirts and such.

Hope this helps! I have photos in our photo gallery.
