Glad you posted this for folks who don't want to go to the beach!

My aunt and uncle are exactly the same -- they ABSOLUTELY love going to Nelson's Dock Yard.

We were just there last week and loved it! At least what we did and saw of it. We went to Jolly Beach (not the resort, just the beach) and had a wonderful, relaxing day. It was beautiful beyond compare IMO. The shopping was not great there (near the pier) but I don't cruise to shop so it didn't bother me. Here's a picture of Jolly Beach......man, I want to go back there, LOL.

Beautiful Island, Nelson Dock Yard not to be misses, Shirley Heights has breath taking scenery. The beaches are fab...cannot remember the name of the beach we visited, had a local bar, the food was good, beer cold & cheep.

We have spent 1 day there hired a local tour for a day long tour. Also had time to see the church on the hill you see from the port prior to our tour. The price was $40 each...very reasonable...ther were 12 of us in a open sided bus with 6 rows of seats. Would go back.

I give Antigua an A++ after my recent visit on the Norwegian Jewel. Friendly people, gorgeous vistas, and some history thrown in. I can't wait to go back.

We LOVE Antigua. I went a few years ago with just my little girl... we just shopped as she was unfortunately beached out.
We were there last week, aboard the MSC Orchestra... we did the catamaran sail and snorkel through the ship, which we don't usually do, but it was GREAT! The snorkeling was neat... we went to "Deep Bay" I think it was..there was a sunken freighter ship, which was spooky looking lol... then we sailed onto the beach... of course the rum punch was flowing! The Beach was lovely, a few locals vending their goods... but the beach had a decent drop off and the kids and adults were having fun jumping off the back of the catamaran.. this was pure paradise... we had a blast! Plus my daughter finally swam, actually swam on her own and snorkeled!!! WOOOHOOO!

I cannot wait to go back to Antigua....

Same here! Always, I'm amazed at how "Sugar White" the sand is!
