I just was not impressed with Antigua and this was the port my DH was excited about and the whole reason we went on this cruise. I think we must have missed something.
Selena, we were not impressed either. In fact it's on my list of never to visit again ports.
I did buy some great sandals there, but not much else. We noticed a "sewer" smell while walking on their crumbling sidewalks too.

Antiqua is a beautiful island, but you have to get out into the country to see it. I highly recommend an island tour.
But one of the things we enjoy doing there is getting a day-pass at an all-inclusive resort. That way we get to spend the whole day at a lovely resort with free food, free alcohol, and free water sports for the entire day. And most of the time, the cost is about the same as most shore excursions, but with alot less people.

OMG that is exactly what we smelt. I thought it was awful and I felt so bad for those people.
Hanna, Jeff wanted to do this port and we honestly booked it all for this port. We went there on the Magic. It was one of Disney's special itineraries.

Pete, I have seen some pretty pictures of the place but we never saw anything outstanding.
If for some reason we go back we might try and AI resort.
One of our teachers retired down there about 3 years ago. He and his GF opened a B&B.

We like to take a sailing catamaran which includes a beach stop to a beach (365 beaches... one for each day of the year) that can only be reached by water. What soft sugar-white sand!
The only excursion we did NOT like was the catamaran to Bird's Island. The beach there was way overcrowded and not very clean. At least the catamaran was not crowded and very nice....
We look forward to returning to Antigua!
