Apparently, Antigua is getting quite popular... A friend of a friend just got back from two weeks there.

Antigua is a place where I certainly wouldln't mind spending a week...

If you're interested in finding out a lot more about Antigua (and Barbuda), you might be interested in Heritage Publications. A number of books and booklets, published by the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, can be ordered from the following web page:

Antigua is by far my favourite island. I vacationed here once before at an all -inclusive and it was wonderful to return there on this last cruise.

My daughter and I did a private guided tour with Lawrence
    www.lawrenceofantigua.com

Lawrence meets you at the end of the pier holding a sign with your name on it...
The tour was about 3 hours in length while travelling in his new bus, $ 35.00 for adults and $ 25.00 for children.
With the option of a beach drop off he would designate a return pick up time. ( with a beach stop the excursion price was a little higher )

we visited English Harbour, Nelson's Dockyard, Shirley Heights, the rain forest..lol
It was an awesome tour and well worth the money.

The largest of the British Leeward Islands boasts 365 beaches and crystal-clear waters. History buffs will want to tour Nelson's Dockyard National Park, where one of the great admirals of the 18th century kept his fleet. The island draws a huge yachting crowd during Sailing Week in April and is perfect for windsurfing, water-skiing, sailing, snorkeling and diving.

If you want to see Antigua party, plan your visit to coincide with Antigua Carnival -
the end of July through the first part of August.

    This year's dates were July 21 - August 7.

See Antigua Carnival 2007 for details
