    Seattle Hotels

The wife and I are taking our first cruise 6/18 on the Sun Princess (35th wedding anniversary).

The game place is to fly in Saturday (noonish) get a room and browse around Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning prior to boarding the ship.

    The questions are:

How do you get from the airport?

Decent place to stay downtown without needing a bank loan...lol I'd like to stay under $150 bucks. ( I can't get over how expensive rooms are)

How do you get to the ship from the hotel?

And the last question is....is there anything else I should keep in mind???

Thanks for the great info on this site...

    Tom/Diane

I am planning on staying at the Marriot that is right by the airport - the cost is less than $150 and since the cruiseline is providing transportation from the airport (for a fee) I am hoping to get there that way. Our TA already made the arrangements for the shuttle for us. If the Marriot is not in walking distance they have a free shuttle that will take us to the airport where we can get the shuttle to the port. I also know that there are hotels right by the port that are probably yoru expensive ones. Hope it works out for you.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

The first thing to keep in mind is that there are 2 cruise terminals in Seattle.

Pier 66 is used by Celebrity and NCL.

Terminal 30 is used by Princess and HAL.

Pier 66 has a hotel next door (Edgewater) and one across the street (Marriott Waterfront) Both are pricey.

There are no hotel within 1/2 mile of Terminal 30.

The Holliday Inn Express is a good choice for site-seeing. It is A couple blocks from the Seattle Center. (Space Needle, EMP) Just a couple blocks south of there is the "free ride" zone for the buses.

From that link you can check out all bus routes.

There is a section on the board with more info on Seattle.
If you have any other questions, just ask.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza Downtown for three nights prior to our Alaska cruise last year. Got a great priceline bid for $55.00 per night. Location was great. Just took a taxi to the terminal. Something to consider...
