    It's raining in Juneau :(

Well, the forecast over the last few days shows that it has been raining in Juneau and that the extended forecast shows it raining through May 12 (no further info after that). Our cruise leaves on the 21st, I am hoping against hope that this means that it is less likely to be raining later in the month since May supposedly has the least amount of rain?

    *wishing*

I think Juneau is one of the rainiest ports of all the Alaska ports of call. I have never seen it rain all day, though...just intermittent showers.

Make sure you have some rain wear just in case you get drizzled on.
We buy the 2 pack of disposable rain ponchos at the Dollar Store and I carry them with me when we go ashore.

I've heard that Ketchikan is one of the wettest places on earth. It was raining when we were there, and just cloudy in Juneau.

Relax. There is nothing you can do about it so enjoy. At least it is not a freezing rain!

We've cruised to Alaska twice ... only once did we have rain and it didn't last long. It won't spoil the cruise, and there will still be lots to do and see. Remember layers of clothing is best. We did rain coats with sweaters underneath, and I packed a fold up bag (rolls into a small rectangle to fit in my purse) and opens into a tote.

You are going to have such a fabulous time on this cruise. The beauty in Alaska if phenomenal. We are going back in Sept 2012 and this time to see Glacier Bay.

Robin, don't dispair! The 10 day forecast only says showers and the probability for showers each day ranges from 0 (yes! 2 days have NO rain forecast) to 60%.

Robin. It looks like you lucked out on the odds. Or you have a method. Or you have it in with someone.....
