The dock is located 5 miles north of Sitka, at Halibut Point. The developer is working to negotiate docking rates and transportation rates. Krazy Kruizers do you have any idea how much HAL pays for transportation in Anchorage? I heard the proposed rate in Sitka would be $5 per passenger, round trip.

I can see that is is an ongoing work in progress...please keep us updated as you get new info.

Interesting reply from my buddy in Sitka (he's a tourism operator, so definitely "in the loop" in such matters):

"The dock........ don't really know what the plan is. It's private, 4.5 miles north of town and seems kind of dicey as far as access for big ships. As far as I know, they'll still be anchoring out front.??"

That's an easy answer. The job is half finished and the tough work is ahead - time to quit.

Not at this time, Bill. The frubal icon is not available. We do plan to reinstate frubals in the future (near future I hope) with a whole new counting system. Keep a lookout for the frubal icon to reappear.

Any update on the dock? We will be cruising to Sitka May 2013.
