Oh I have a tradition while in Alaska. I get a stuffed Moose (toy). I name them all too for people who helped make my trip even better.
    2003- Vasi (Asst Waiter)
2006- Ian (Capt McNaught- duh Capt of the ship LOL)
2010- Gwen (tour Guide in Skagway- discoverskagway.com)
I'll post pics tomorrow of my Mooses cause they are so just darn cute.

My first cruise in 1986 to Alaska ... I purchased a tiny gold nugget on a chain.

My 2nd cruise to Alaska in 2006 ... I purchased a Ulu knife (Char mentioned above) that was hand carved antler. It is a beautiful piece of artwork, so is on display rather than using it. It has 3 eagle heads on it.

My 3rd cruise to Alaska in 2012 ... hmmmm, I'm not sure.

If you are looking to purchase T-shirts, key rings, magnets etc. stop at the Alaska T-Shirt Company in Juneau or Skagway (it isn't in Ketchikan). Their prices are fantastic.
