Clothing for Alaska in late May for a Floridian

Hi there again, we are planning a cruise for the last week in May of 2011 in Alaska. Our blood is thin (being from Florida) and we get cold easily. We are going to have this fabulous aft-wrap veranda and would like to spend a great deal of time out there on it, enjoying the views.

The question is, I know it can be very windy outside on a ship, and feel rather cold even when in the Carribbean, let alone Alaska. I am trying to come up with a plan of what to buy/pack, but I really have no clue what will be warm enough, or maybe too warm.

Anyone have any suggestions? specifics would be nice, even photos. Adardondak (spelling?) jacket? Lined? Fleece? I really am not sure what sort of jackets to buy. Shoes? What about those rubber mocs from LL Bean? Ack!

Thanks, as always, for any insight

One of the things I found very helpful on our balcony was the extra blankets in the cabin. I loved to wrap them around me and stare at the beautiful scenery.

Thank you for the link to the Alaskan Clothing thread and for the helpful tip about the blankets! I was looking through various clothing sites last night, and the more I looked, the more confused I became!
