If you cruise out of Vancouver on your Alaskan cruise, keep in mind that there are two main piers in Vancouver that cruise ships use: Ballentyne Pier and Canada Place Pier.
Canada Place pier is located right in downtown Vancouver, adjacent to Stanley Park. There is a hotel and an IMAX theater right at Canada Place along with a shopping area. Its an easy stroll over to the Stanley Park sea wall for a nice morning or evening stroll. Canada Place pier is used by cruise ships more than Ballentyne Pier is.
To get to Canada Place pier from the airport, all you need to do is hail at cab or a limo and it’s a short 20-25 minute ride from Vancouver International Airport. Cab fare should run you about 25 CAD.
Ballentyne Pier however is on the eastern end of the city outside of downtown in the industrial part of Vancouver. Ballentyne Pier is mainly used by Royal Caribbean ships in Vancouver. There really isn’t much to do or see around the pier area, unlike at Canada Place pier.
To get to Ballentyne Pier from Vancouver International Airport you can grab either a cab or a limo for the 30-40 minute trip. Cab fare to Ballentyne should run you in the neighbor hood of 30 CAD.
If you are interested in a limo ride from the airport to either pier you can contact LimoJet Gold, the only authorized limo transportation service from Vancouver International Airport.
