We got off the ship here on our 1995 cruise. Dad got sick and taken to the hospital. The Princess people found hubby and I a motel. We spent 2 nights there and then flew home with Dad. We loved Creek St and the folks at the hospital and in town were super and made us feel very welcome. Seems a lot of them had heard we got off the ship. If you have to get stuck somewhere on a trip I can't think of a better place.
Dad was 87 and had a third degree heart block on the Regal Princess. The medical people there saved his life, he received the best care! Also great care at Ketchican General. We successfully flew home with all arrangements from the Princess land people. Dad went directly to the hospital and got a pacemaker and lived to be 93, still golfing!

We booked a tour right at the pier. Went to Saxman, a beach where there was an eagle nest across the way, Dolly's House (many of us left the tour there as it wasn't a big walk back to the ship). We stopped at a jewelry store on the way back.

We went on a bus trip that paralleled the train in Skagway in the afternoon. Still a lot of fog at that time. The driver went up farther so we just got above the fog. Great scenery.
