"must see or do" in Alaska

Taking a south-bound cruise from Seward. What cruise line land tours do u recommend: Anchorage/Denali/Talkeetna, Alyeska, Fairbanks. I'm not a big fan of motorcoaching or cold weather. All suggestions will be apreaciated......thx

    What ship?

    What ports?

    Whale watching is great.

    Helicopter over glaciers is great.

Float plane over glaciers is great.

Either arrange on your own or through the cruise line if it's offered but a helicopter ride is a MUST. You have no idea what you are missing unless you do this. You will never see scenery like this anywhere.

We did the helicopter/dog sled tour out of Juneau and it was amazing!! Expensive, but something that is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure!

We also did a private flight out of Juneau north of the Artic Circle to Cold Foot, which was extremely informative.

But you don't have to do motorcoach - you can do the train from Anchorage - Denali - Fairbanks, either though the cruise line or on your own through the Alaskan Railroad. It's the best way to make the trip!

I've sailed on both ships and can tell you that I love them both!

Do they both have the same itinerary? If so, then choose the one that gives you the best bang for the buck. You can't go wrong with either one.

I agree with Char (gee, that sounds familiar since we seem to see eye-to-eye on just about everything!). Both of these ships are absolutely wonderful!

Depending on when you are going, the Millennium will normally have an older crowd, but I think the food is better and it's a bit more upscale than the Radiance. But that's just my opinion.

You might also take a look at Holland America - they've been offering some good pricing (usually less than Celebrity) and is very comparable to Celebrity.

I know you'll enjoy any of these.
