We have been to Hubbard Glacier and thought it was wonderful but on Thursday May 11th we will be at Glacier Bay for the first time. How different is it???

Hm... lets see.
Glacier Bay is HUGE! Its composed of many many glaciers. The most notable that you'll see include, Marjerie, Grand Pacific and possibly John's Hopkins. John's Hopkins inlet is usually closed from ship traffic at the beginning of the season though since seal pups use the floating ice to give birth to their young.
Marjerie is big, but not nearly as big as Hubbard and it is not nearly as active as Hubbard. Grand Pacific is right next to Marjerie but often ignored because it is covered in sooo much dirt you would think it was a dirt mound rather than a glacier. I have been to GBNP twice, first time we saw lots of calving, second time barely saw any. Its kinda hit and miss. I'll post some pictures for you of the differences.
