as i'm going to two places in tunisia tunis(capitol) and garbes on cruise in november thought i'd start a thread for the place. anybody been there? if so what did you think of the country?

We visited Tunis a number of years ago. Our excursion took us to Carthage and Side Bou Said - sp? Carthage was a bit disappointing with only a few ruins. Sid Bou Said was a lovely village and we enjoyed wandering around it. The shops/stalls all expect you to bargain, which I hate. I looked at a pair of gold earrings in one stall, named my price and the guy said no. When we started to walk back to the coach he became abusive because we wouldn't buy. Lots of Tunis is like a big city anywhere. Hope this helps.
