Thumbs up Agadir, Morocco

Now that the NCL Jade and Gem are doing their 'exotic Med' itinerary, I will give a short encouragement for the guy we hired in Agadir. Graham Knight recently relocated from Wales to Agadir and he took four of us to the walled city of Taroudant on our recent port call. It was fantastic! Best day of the entire cruise, and it was all great!
We stopped to see the goats that climbed the trees, visited walls and souks, buying spices and other tiny souvenirs, then went to lunch at the local guide's house, where his mother and sister-in-law had fixed a most satisfying meal.
Graham's site is now up so check it out. I will answer any questions, if you are interested.

Welcome to Morccan discovery Agadir
(If I did this correctly, it shows us eating the 'local' cuisine from a 'tajine.')

A tajine is like a crockpot and is vegetables and a meat. People stop in the morning at vendors and order them, with their choice of meat (chicken, lamb, beef) and pick them up at noon.
Our guide's mother added a sort of french fried potatoes at the last few moments, then we ate with chunks of bread. I found peas and olives and potatoes, and such divine chicken.... yum!
We also had a salad, and Fanta. Bending over to eat, made me feel full sooner - but I was SO stuffed at the end! More so than at a cruise ship buffet!!!

Sounds wonderful!
Maybe more folks will begin considering itineraries that include ports of call in North Africa!
