    Salon and Spa Services

Seems all I can think about lately is our upcoming cruise . Now I have another question. How many of you use the Salon and Spa services? Do you find them to be good quality, and are they expensive? I like to spend every minute I can out in the sun, or on an island exploring things, maybe having a few cocktails...... . I always felt I would be wasting precious time if I booked one of those services. Maybe I'm wrong Whadda ya think

I know some folks really look forward to their spa time.

I've used them on several occasions, but I by no means do it on every cruise. The prices are a bit higher than off ship.

One reason I don't use them more is the 'Steiner Sell' at the end of your massage, facial, or whatever. That's something I could do without very easily.

I used the spa twice on my recent cruise. Mainly due to the 25% discount if you presented a shore excursion ticket stub for the day you book a spa treatment. This offer is available across the NCL fleet, as far as I know. Having said that, I get an automatic discount on spa treatments due to being a repeat cruiser with the company.

I have used the salon and spa for various things. The services are as good as the people giving them and that can vary from ship to ship. And yes, they know they have you hostage, so the prices are on the high end. If you live in a more expensive city like LA or NY or London, the prices might seem competitive.

I think the biggest ripoff was my manicure. Over twice what I normally pay, and the nail tech was nothing great. I was on a long cruise, and didn't think my nails would make it the entire cruise. For the amount of good it did though, I would have been better off with a polish change.

I love my spa time! I try and do mine on a port day so I can get the discount on services. If not then it's on a sea day which I don't mind either cause all I do is seem to relax on the balcony and watch the water go by.
