I think that if they offered a digital CD or account that you could access after the cruise, they would sell a lot more pictures. It also seems to me that if they cut the price about 20% , more people would buy. I know we would be more likely to buy a pic for $15 instead of $20 or more. Something about one photo for twenty or more just seems wrong. I know Disney offers a CD, but it is $400. (Crazy, considering the same CD at Disney World is $150)

$400? That is outrageous. The raw materials are less than 50 cents. The production is only a few dollars at most.

Dan, maybe if they were to tie the pictures of each person to their room and make them available on the TV in the room based on the room number. Software is not that hard to write and while it does mean an extra step of maybe swiping the person's room key, it is readily doable.

I wouldn't pay even $150 for such a CD. Are these just photos of the particular party or does it have ship's photos on it?

I like the TV solution. My concern was for the non-tech savvy people using the kiosk or even the TV. The TV solution costs nothing extra other than paying programmers to write an application. Of course the best would be to buy an application and have that company tweak it for your needs...

Makes me think more and more about working for a consultant or doing freelance work after graduation. Fun projects...then again I am a 9-5 and go home kind of guy

Dan,i know what you mean about non savvy technophobes, the couple next-door to us on the OASIS couldnt even navigate the basics of the t.v in the cabin let alone accessing photos just to point out i thought photos taken aboard were of good quality and not that expensive so we purchased a few just in case we never went on another cruise again(like thats gonna happen)

They do the tv thing on the new Disney Dream. As for the $150 at Disney World, they include park pictures also, and have a whole array of enhancements that you can do to the photos. I am not saying that it is a good deal, but considering how difficult it can be to get pictures of the two of us, I might would do it. They also send photographers on shore excursions and stuff, so that could be a plus.

My girlfriend spends big bucks every cruise on photos. Royal's scan rather well and make wonderful reprints that way. I made my mom a lovely 8 x 10 out of one my girlfriend bought

Being on other Royal ships and the Oasis the technology on that ship is just ... awesome. I loved it. Cannot wait until Jan to see it all again!
