Fitness Fees

Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas - does anyone know the approximate cost of extra fitness fees?

Spinning Class?
Yoga?

Also, is there an age limit for using the fitness room? Our son is extremely active and goes to the gym regularly with me to spin, use the weights or the elliptical machine. Almost 15 yo.

From past experience, the going rate for the extra fee classes has been $10 per session.

Not sure of the age requirement.

I think when I was on the Liberty of the Seas the age limit was 15 or accompanied with an adult if younger but I can't imagine anyone saying anything to him if he is actually working out and using the equipment properly

Char is right, the fees for spinning and yoga were $10

Thanks Ladies... $10 is what I thought I remembered from a previous cruise as well.

Does this mean there are no group exercise programs included in the cost of the cruise?

None that I am aware of in the gym, Lee. The group sessions are all for a fee. The use of the gym and all of the equipment is without charge, though.

Sometimes they will have some group exercise opportunities on deck...such as the water fitness (aerobics) or line dancing which is sometimes considered as exercise. There are a few others....like the morning stretch which is usually done in a lounge area ...walk a mile which is outside on the jogging track...it just depends on the particular Cruise Director and activities crew onboard.

Well when I was on the Liberty of the Seas, they had a few stretch and abs classes that were scattered throughout the week and those were free. It seems to me like the "Intermediate" classes that require a bit more skill have fees probably to keep class size small and serious.

Thanks, it seems there will be enough activities offered for free. Water arobics has always looked like fun (although Nov. in the Med. might not be the best time to try that) and I know Maria wants to learn how to line dance so I'll bring my dancing shoes. I plan on using both the gym and the track. Stretching in the morning is a great way to start the day. I cannot even find my abs anymore.

[Water aerobics has always looked like fun]

It is fun and great exercise! I have taken deep water aerobics classes for years and it is great for the heart, not hard on the knee or ankles and can relieve the muscle strain from the previous day's workout. As always, check with your doctor before starting any program though if you haven't worked out in a while and take it slowly.
