Hey all! Has anyone ever got a facial or message on a cruise before? I was wanting to get one while on the cruise so I could be pampared for a day. I was also wanting to get my hair done for formal nights. Is there a website that has the rates?

Well now----you would need to go to the web site of the cruise line you are sailing on to (hopefully) get the rates for spa services. Most of the time you have to be on board the ship to see the prices.....they change. Perhaps some of our members will have some info to share with you from the cruises they have taken recently. That would give you an idea of the expense. Which cruise line do you need to know about? Royal Caribbean?
The spa runs specials on port days for those who don't go ashore. You will find your best values then. For getting your hair done for formal night...as soon as you board go directly to the spa and make your appoointment. They book up fast for those days!

Be careful with facials, especially the deep cleansing ones. While they are very relaxing and pampering, often people have "break outs" in the days immediately following a facial.
If you have an event, or are planning to have photos taken of a special occasion, usually a facial isn't recommended within two weeks of the event.

That I'm not sure, I've only ever been on one cruise, but I do work in a day spa!

Thanks for all the feed back on this. I probably will wait till the last day to get one. I was going to WV once a few years back, used Sally Hanson to remove hair under my arms, I must be allergic to it cause under my arms they puffed up red and swollen! I had to drive 8+hrs and try to keep my arms up. I couldn't do anything once I got down there except cry if I tried to lower my arms. I had to sleep that way too!! God what an awful experience!!!! BTW.... NEVER tried that again!!!![]()

how miserable for you! I do find that I tend to break out when I do a deep facial- I usually tend to keep mud masques and the like here and do them pretty regularly- so I don't break out. My DH gave me a half day at the spa and I realized how NICE that was! I really enjoyed it!
We had DD's hair cut and styled on our last cruise as a treat and found it VERY expensive- we won't do it again...but she had a great time and they did a little makeup and she came out looking very polished- so enjoy it if you do it!!She loved it!
Have fun!
The manicure I had on my last cruise was horribly expensive. But it was also the best manicure I have ever had. So I consider it to be worth every penny. My nails looked amazing and the effects lasted an entire week.
And what a view! How often to you get to watch your ship come into port while being pampered like that? My manicurist pointed out how the water was "changing color, and oh, we must be coming into port."
