Cover charges for cruise clubs are a bit too much. There are those who pay to go to clubs on land, but I don't think this will be the case for cruiseships.

I frown on paying for all the new additional fees & charges that the cruise lines are dreaming up. Cover charges on a line that is not a favorite among seasoned cruisers is not very wise on their part and will not be popular among the passengers.

But, on the other hand, I just came back from a 28 day Princess cruise and we sat through 5 different juggling acts.
If Princess or RCCL gave you a choose of a free juggling act or cover charge Vegas show which would you choose? I know I would reluctantly go w/the cover charge.

I think it is just a bit too much to have cover charges in lounges.
I'll cruise NCL, but will not pay the cover charge.

That photo looks like one of those composite ones, on which images are laid out against a background.

I was thinking about the Sanctuary on the Princess ships, but that's $15 for the afternoon, not for nighttime activities. I hope the cruiselines aren't going in that direction.

Loved the picture -- but who has a lounge and dresses up like that?

Maybe I missed something.

No, the lounge with a cover charge will be on their new F3 ships, which will be the largest ships NCL build at 150,000 tons. The first one debuts in 2010.

This is how rumors get started. NCL is trying something new. If it works all the other lines will copy it, if not they will go back to the old ways.

Seems to me that "any time dining" is starting to take hold on more and more lines.

Go ahead and bash NCL all you want. But NCL is trying to be innovative and reach more and more of the potential market because we as the "very frequent" cruisers are not going to be around forever.
