You are not supposed to do that, but I know a lot of people do. In our case, I buy the soda card, my wife buys the water card and I steal a bottle or two of her water per 7 day cruise. As for her, she drinks about 3 or 4 bottles a day so it is well worth it.

The coffee cards are $24 and they sometimes have a coupon for 2 for 1. They are good for, I believe 15 specialty coffees and unlimited fresh brewed coffee. The coffee for free on Princess is pretty bad and I'm not that picky. The fresh brewed coffee is excellent and they have real heavy cream available.

My wife likes good coffee and had to buy the cooffee card since she couldn't stand the buffet coffee which was notfreshly brewed but more of an instant coffee. I got unlimited frsly bewed regular coffee on her card much better than th buffet coffee. I could also have a pot of hot tea. I don't believe it is wrong to useher card since when I would go an order for her I would order my free one with the same card perfctly accptable to teh staff.

Tony, those are for a limited number of coffees so they don't really care. I was speaking about the all you can drink packages.

Last month, my hubby bought a few of the specialty coffees at the International Cafe on the Golden Princess, but he also said he didn't mind the regular coffee. So maybe they found a supplier for some decent blend. I stuck with my Mountain Dew supply, supplemented by some Sobe that I also packed. Did have plenty of the free lemonade. I would have preferred if you can just get it from a dispenser, but instead you have to request it. And request it, I did at many of the meals.

I brought a reusable mug at Walmart before our cruise, but managed to lose it the second day. Then I bought one at the ship's store. It comes in handy when going to the pool or elsewhere. Hubby also brought one of his coffee mugs from home.

We had brought some Sobe and Sierra Mist for our girl, but she also bought a soda or two from one of the bars, which was fine.
