Have you ever been on a cruise and bought one of those soda cards like me? Well on my last cruise (Celebrity) whenever I would use my soda card at a bar the batenders would always be mad and get me my soda in a not so nice mood. Does this happen on other ships? It really bugs me because I paid for my card and don't share it or anything like that yet they are not nice about getting me my soda.

I understand that they do not make any money off me every time but I am always polite and don't get ones for my family/friends. I was just wondering if this was a fluke or it happens all the time. I always tip the bartenders who are nice about getting me my soda. On one cruise a few years ago I met this really nice lady bartender and she would always be nice and even give me free samples of other drinks (not alcohol

). I gave her an extra 10 bucks at the end and she did appreciate it.

Yup It happens to me on some cruises!! I just go to different bars to see which one doesn't give me the evil eye, then I do what you do, I tip!!

I, too, purchase the soda card.......................cruise in Sept..........card is also good for juices.....................will be purchasing another one on upcoming cruise, Carnival Glory, 1-26-2008

We didn't have this problem when we went on our last cruise, also with Celebrity. The bartenders and waiters knew what we wanted after the first couple of times. Only way to go.

I purchase the soda card on Princess cruises and have never experienced the "evil eye" from bartenders. If I did, it is I that would be offended as there is no reason for the bartender to be offended.

And I don't believe I should have to tip a bartender to be nice about serving soda. What are they doing with the tip money added automatically to my bill?

We got the soda card on Celebrity and found the service to be great. Drove two bartenders crazy because I kept changing drink choices. Boy, the bartenders are GOOD at remembering what you order.

I have had them on both RCI and Carnival. I haven't had any problem at all with an evil eye.

They should not give you the evil eye because all the bartenders get a proportion of the 15% added to the cost when you buy them.

Its the ones at the pool bars on a week that will probably serve most people for the week. They all move round so the work gets shared around anyway.

I purchased a Soda Card on the Crown Princess, and never had the bad experience you had on Celebrity.
