I have a question about the open bar price....does that include anything from the bar? All liquors, beer, drinks of the day, sodas, etc? And what is the latest that a group could decide to add it?
I do alot of groups and have never had one of them want it or just couldn't get everyone to agree to have it. Some people don't drink alcohol so it wouldn't be worth it to them. The bad thing is that everyone in the group must participate in it.
If this is something you want for your group, ask your travel agent about it. If they aren't familiar with the program, tell them that they can find the information on the Travel Agent areas for the cruise line. But I would think your travel agent is familiar with it... or I would hope anyway... or at least know where to find the information for you.

I am a part time travel agent that works with small groups and cruise weddings. In my two and a half years as an agent I have never been asked about an open bar so never needed to look into it.
It seems like everyone, even travel agents who have booked groups for many years haven't had a first hand experience with it, resulting in a lack of insider information. I thought perhaps someone on this board may have had a first hand experience and could provide insight...just curious about it for my own personal knowledge, don't have anyone interested in actually booking one....

Sorry but I am unfamiliar with the specifics of how it works as I am only 26 and just been in the field for over 2 years ...maybe you could provide me with insight on this?

Typically it includes all bar items, at least that is what my Carnival BDM had told me.
I know it has to be prepaid, by everyone in the group... typically by the time final payments are done .... but it may be able to be added on during group finalization...

I can imagine most people wouldn't be interested. But I do have a group of people from New Orleans that take a trip every year around mardi gras and can and do easily knock back $40 worth of drinks a day per person...so it could possibly be something they would like to know about. I like to learn about new things and this one was definitely something new to me...but now that I think about it, when I was on the Freedom last month a Grand Ole Opry group had a card of some type I had never seen before and I bet that was for an open bar...hmmm
