You are right. Looks like they are putting that beautiful little village on the road to ruin. Here in the US, the landscape is littered with malls and strip centers. You can't go 5 miles without encountering one of them. Why would I want to sail to Mexico just to go to yet another mall?

Majahual was beautiful and attractive and special specifically because it WASN'T just another mundane cookie cutter mall look-alike. The port area was mall enough. We always rushed through that as fast as we could to get to the transport AWAY from it. What a shame!

Sure, the mall there had a swimming pool. And that made it a mall with a swimming pool. We have pools here, too - on every block. We DON'T have Majahuals here, though, and it looks like there will no longer be one there, either.
