If I remember correctly that church in Tallinn is where we started our walking tour of the Old Town. After reading about Tallinn before our cruise, I really wanted to see the Old Town as it is the oldest surviving midevil city in the world. I wasn't disappointed. I loved it. Those old and winding cobblestone streets, (apparently that is how they built cities back then) there wasn't a straight street anywhere. And the old wall all around the city, most of it still in tact.
You are being right about it felt like being in a fairy tale.
Did you see a little show in a grassy square surrounded by old monestary walls built in the late 900's? Two girls and a guy playing old instruments of the period and singing period songs and dressed in clothes of the time? It was really cool.
I loved being there and just couldn't believe I was in a place built so very long ago!
