We did this excursion in March with a group of friends. It was "interesting". Cute little old rickety train, good service, but you really don't see anything much of the island except the perimeter and the sugar cane fields, poverty-stricken villages and the ocean and a gazillion goats running wild in the vegetation!!!

We nicknamed it the "Goat Train". We actually enjoyed & learned more on the rides to & from the train than on the train.

I would not do it again, but I would say, if this is the kind of thing you are looking to see, it will be enjoyable, I think we were expecting more.
