That's what I like about being in the ocean. However I am cautious and always make sure there are plenty of others around. I dan swim but not the greatest swimmer. I know the ocean is a lot different from our MN lakes!
In 2001 2 of us spent the day at a beach in Antiqua. The beach had a deeper area right by shore where the waves were breaking and churning constantly. You had to get through this to get to the gentle rolling where it was shallow for quite a ways out. Folks would be surprised at that first deeper area as they saw folks out a ways only up to their knees. My girlfriend and I were walking through that rough area when I saw a little elderly lady get knocked over and under, she came up but before we could get to her she was knocked down again, we dragged her out as she was going down a third time. Funny as there were others closer to her that didn't do a thing. My friend had never been in the ocean before and I only a few times, we weren't the greatest at remaining upright and walking through that rough surf. Me thinks we had some help from above! The lady and her friend sat on the sand for the rest of the day. She had problems with her knees and just couldn't stand in the surf. Now you know why I am always cautious.
