We did the same in St Lucia - that 'Land and Sea' excursion is a LONG one, and it's best not to take the chance! We had a party of four ALMOST not make it back to our ship when we were there...
It CAN happen! So, it's wise to know when to book through the ship and when it's safe to use a private excursion.
