I like the fact that Carnival and Princess do have self-service laundries on board (plus the iron for use -- who wants to carry one onboard anyway).

Our last cruise was a 15-day one and we use the washers twice so we can take less clothes. Our previous cruise was a week-long one but we were on the road (took the train to our embarkation port) for four days total so we really appreciated the service.

I had asked about the laundries on other cruiselines, but often the response is that the ship's laundry service is pretty reasonably priced (like I want to pay a dollar to wash my underwear!) and who wants to spend time doing laundry.

Another issue with my family is that my daughter gets a rash when wearing clothes washed in regular detergent. If we use our own detergent (allergen-free All or other similar ones), there's less of a problem. She may have a reaction to the detergent used by the ship.
