I don't dive down deep enough to have the pressure. I just like to get a closer look at some of the fish. Sometimes the bottom is WAY farther down than you'd think. At Trunk Bay, I noticed a mask laying on the bottom. I thought I'd do the right thing and go get it. I did it but I was definetly out of air when I got back to the surface! I had no idea it was as deep as it was! BTW I had taken off the snorkel gear that time to free me up. If you want to snorkel without a vest, just don't go on one of the ship's excursions, go on one of the local ones, they don't require the vests. I also think if you were to snuba, you'd know when you were deep enough if your ears started bothering you and you'd come up a ways. I don't know how deep it has to be in order to feel the pressure.
