My very first cruise was on Celebrity Zenith to Bermuda in August of 2004. We absolutely loved it! Beautiful beaches, nice, nice people. Clean island. We lost a day in port because we had to divert for an airlift of a sick passenger, but we still had 2 1/2 days in Bermuda.
We arrived at 6pm (instead of 9am) so by the time we finished early seating dinner, there wasn't much to do in Hamilton. Most of the shops were closed and since we had kids in our group, we weren't interested in the bar scene. Next morning, we went to Kings Wharf via ferry. Swam with the dolphins, and then took the bus back to Hamilton. Nice way to see the eastern half of the island. You see so many pretty beaches and pastel homes. Had lunch on the ship, then went back to Horseshoe Bay and spend the afternoon on the beach. Next morning, we set sail (all of an hour lol) to St George.
I had never snorkeled before, and while we were in St George, we walked over to Tobacco Bay (one of the prettiest beaches I've ever seen). They rented snorkel equipment so we decided to try it. WOW, I was hooked! We got back to the ship and booked a snorkel tour the next morning before departure.
Bermuda is well north of the Caribbean, but it's a beautiful island and I would definitely recommend a visit!
