Shopping

There are many shopping malls, markets and local shops.

1.- Gran Plaza mall about 10 minutes away by cab from the pier , department mall called Fabricas de Francia, many shops for formal and casual ware, sports clothes, shoe shops and restaurants. The biggest one in Acapulco
2.- Plaza Bahia.- Much smaller then GP, with many clothing stores for formal and casual ware (I buy my Hawaiian shirts here), bowling alley, sports shop, and 2 restaurants. 15 minutes away.
3.- Mercado central de Abastos, the municipal market, where locals buy there every day groceries this place I woull not recommend to go alone, get a guide. 10 minutes away. It may be an adventure to see where many locals go for fresh fruit, veggies, etc.
4.- Parazal Flea Market, 5 minutes away, this is where most of the local handcrafts sell, I don't like the quality of most of the items sold here because they make them by the bulk and you have to learn to bargain; if yuou like something never pay full price, they expect you to bargain, try at 30% of the price and work from their, I hate to bargain and feel bad because I never know if it was a good price or if they had the last laugh.
5.- 100% Mexico stores, these are goverment subsidized stores where you can find crafts from all over Mexico at very reasonable prices (I buy gifts for friends at this store) great quality and even better prices. No pressure sellsmen. Insde the cruise terminal and close to Plaza bahia
6.- Diana circle flea market, the owners of the shops used to peddle souvenires on the street and the municipal government made this spot just for them, very cheap but very bad quality. 15 minutes away.

You would require a guide if you go to Parazal or Diana flea market and central market

My Signature See ya on the pier...
