Taxco

Taxco is a little miner town, located 3 hours away from Acapulco; it's like you were transported to 1859 Mexico. It is a whole day excursion that will take you to the Santa Prisca chapel, old homes and very cheap silver shopping, it is very picturesque and well worth the trip.

Although the city has grown a great deal over the past few decades, it has managed to preserved its original architectural style the white houses and the brown tiles covering the roofs create a pleasant combination that gives the city its characteristic flavor the hillside on which the city is built means that it has some of the steepest, winding streets in Mexico; inviting one to explore it on foot. There are numerous stalls offering a myriad of handicrafts; the most striking being those crafted from local silver there is also a wide selection of minerals, that attract hordes of collectors.

Other craftwork such as masks, boxes from Olinalá, glass beads, talavera ceramics from Puebla, polychromatic pottery, wooden toys, paper flowers, necklaces of semi-precious stones, sandals, dresses and many other objects, can be obtained from the shops or stalls located on the pavement or in the plazas. Taxco also offers services such as restaurants, hotels, café-bars and museums, such as the Museo de Taxco Guillermo Spratling, just a few yards away from Santa Prisca and the Museo de Arte Virreinal, housed in what was formerly known as casa Villanueva or Casa Humboldt; an 18th century building with a splendid mudéjar

There are a few grotos 15 minutes away from Taxco, "Cacahuamilpa" the largest cave in Guerrero, I'm not sure if they will take you here.
